National Men's Program 2018

Team announcement!

Congratulations to the 13 players selected for the National Men's Team that will compete in the Tri-Nations Tournament in Singapore 6th to 9th December 2018.   Team HK will face strong rivals, Malaysia and Singapore in the tournament, playing two rounds of round robin matches.

Six players will be making their international debut,  Cheng Hoi Kin (EduHK), Timothy Lai, Lui Chun Yin, Regan Wong (HKU), Lau Hung Kei (Hantang), Kenny Wong (9 Jai).  The most capped players, Heung Sau Yin and Chiu Chun Ip (9 Jai) are on their 3rd International Tournaments and remaining players, Aaron Flugge and Nicolas Tang (Unknown), Boris Lai (HKU), Kenneth Wong, Ray Wong (OMG) will be on their second International Tournament.

The Team will be coached by Connie Wong and Heidi Sun and with support from our partner THEi, we have managed to secure a primary carer for the team, Paul Cheung who is a THEi Alumni and have been working extensively with sporting teams.

" We have a good balance in this year's team, we have selected 6 players making their international debut to give them the opportunity to play iin the nternational stage and see how they would handle themselves against stronger players. We hope we have improved in areas where we have been lacking in previous years and I am looking forward to see what this group of players can do. Malaysia and Singapore will be tough, we lost to both of them last year at the AMNC so we are definitely going in there as the underdogs. So there is no pressure on us and we have nothing to lose but to challenge ourselves in each game, pushing our limits and to learn from these great touring experiences we have had the pleasure to be involved in." Head Coach, Connie Wong..

The Hong Kong Netball Association has announced the team who will compete in the 2017 Asian Men's Netball Championships in Kuala Lumpur 13 to 17 December 2017.  There will be five other participating international teams competing in the 2nd edition of the event.

The boys started their preparation in August and is looking forward to compete with the other Asian counterparts.  Head coach, Connie Wong, said, "This is the second year of the AMNC and we are excited to be taking part in it again.  With 6 of the 12 players making their debut on the international scene, it will be an eye opener for them to be exposed to that level of competition.  We have a mixture of youth and experienced league players, but in the international scene, we are still the newcomers.  We have lost some of our key players from last year due to unavailability but we have also gained some exciting new players who have worked hard for their selections.   All the games will be tough, and it will be a tough few days but I am confident that the boys will give it their all when they get the chance to step onto the court and represent Hong Kong.

2016年度香港青年男子投球代表隊  National Youth Men’s Netball Program

18 28 (19881998年出生) 的男子投球員 18 to 28 Year Old Men Netball Player (Born in 1988 to 1998 inclusive)

CONGRATULATIONS to the following players who have been selected in the National Youth Men's Touring Team to Malaysia to compete in the 26th Pesta Bola Jaring USM - Penang International.  The Team will be away from 3 October to 10 October 2016.

Head Coach Connie Wong has been impressed with the player's improvement over the past six months.  She said, "The boys have been  training hard over the Summer and have a great work ethic and training attitude.  It has been a pleasure to coach them.  The selections were difficult as all of them are so eager and deserve to go, but at the end of the day, a decision has to be made.  This was somewhat made a bit easier with some of the senior players not being available for the tour.    I have selected players based on what they can contribute to the team, the balance of the team and also their team attitude.  I am really excited about our last phase of training in the lead up to the tour and see how they will compete with other teams from other countries."
