The Junior Netball League (JNL) is an 18 and unders club based competition where independent clubs are welcome. There is also a Primary Division for players who are 12 years or under.  Schools are very welcome to enter as a club.  The aim of this competition is to give junior netballers in HK more consistent competition and to culminate all the juniors netballers from different schools or background into one competition.  The games will be played on Sundays at Wong Chuk Hang Recreation Ground in Aberdeen.  

The 2010 JNL Spring competition will be held on the following dates:

Primary Division: (12 years & under): 5 week competition

Playing dates: Jan 31, Feb 7, Feb 21, March 14, March 21, 2010. (Please note starting date has changed to Jan 31 to accommodate the  start of the Easter break!)

Entry closes: January 8th 2010        


18 Years & Under Division: 7 week competition

We will endeavor to group teams of same age groups in the same division.  However this is be dependant on number of team entries.

Playing dates: March 14, March 21, March 28, April 18, April 25 May 2, May 9 2010.

Entry closes: 12th February 2010 



Primary:  Any player who is 12 years of age or under by 31st December 2010.   Maximum of 2 boys on court allow per team in the Primary division.

18 & Under Division: Any girl who is 18 years of age or under by 31st December 2010.


Entry cost: $150 per team.   Only cheques are accepted with the entry forms.

Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “Hong Kong Netball Association Limited”.

Last date for entry for Primary Division is 8th January 2010.

Last date for entry for 18 & Under Division is 12th February 2010.

Fees must be paid with the entry form to confirm entry.

Fees will not be refunded if teams withdraw after the last date for entry.

Competition format:

l  It is a CLUB based competition, schools can enter as a club.  Independent clubs are also accepted.

l  A round robin format with top four teams from each division will play in the finals.  Semi finals: 1st vs 4th; 2nd vs 3rd; Grand Final: Winner of both Semis.  This may change depending on number of teams entered.  This decision will be made by the JNL co-ordinator.

l  All games will be played over FOUR quarters of netball.  12 minutes quarters with 2 minutes 1st and 3rd quarter break and 4 minutes half time break.

l  All the games, including the finals, will be centrally timed. 

l  At this stage, games will be played between the hours of 10am to 2pm.  This may subject to change.

Each Team is responsible for:

l  Provide a suitable and competent umpire for each round robin games. HKNA can assist in finding a competent umpire for your games.  $120 cash payment per game to these umpires is requested. 

To help you manage your team, HKNA will offer you two options in regards to umpiring: NEW!

1. You will provide a suitable and competent umpire for your own game.  OR

2. You will provide a suitable and competent umpire to umpire a game at another timeslot.   

Please indicate which option you prefer when filling in the registration form.

l  Their own playing uniform.  Each team member must wear the correct uniform when they are playing.

l  Bring own equipment, e.g. bibs and balls

l  There must be an adult accompanying the team during the games.  This can be a teacher, coach, parent, older sibling etc.

l  Organise your own training venue.  HKNA may be able to help independent clubs with this matter (Sham Sui Po netball courts maybe available).

l  If a team has the first game of the day, they are responsible for putting up the goal post for their allocated court.  For teams who have the last game of the day, they are responsible for putting the goal post away for their allocated court.

To enter a team, simply fill in a team registration form and return it to HKNA by the last date for entry.  Each player will need to complete a player's registration form and be signed a by a parent or guardian.  These forms can be downloaded from the links below.
